DISPENSING MEDICINES, FAMILY HEALTHCARE AND ADVICE

Prescription Collection Service

We can collect your prescription from the Health Centre on your behalf so that your medicine is ready to pick up when you want it. Please ask the pharmacist about this service.

Prescription Delivery Service

We can deliver prescriptions if you are housebound or infirm and do not have a carer who can fetch them for you. Telephone our pharmacist for more information.

Managing your medicines

We offer a special free advisory service available from the pharmacy for patients having difficulty with their medicines or requiring more detailed advice. This is particularly valuable for those people taking a lot of medication and may not know why or how they should be taking them. If you have any questions please ask our pharmacist.

Common minor ailments

If you are suffering from a common minor ailment and are entitled to free prescriptions, our pharmacist will be able to give you advice and if required, medication free of charge, without having to go to see your doctor. Ailments include coughs, colds, flu symptoms, hay fever, head lice, thrush, athlete's foot and threadworms. Further advice is available from our pharmacist

Support to help you stop smoking

Our pharmacist will be able to give you advice and support to help you stop smoking. This is a free service and the programme of support will last for up to 12 weeks. If you receive support while trying to stop smoking your chances of success are greatly increased. Please ask for more details.

Disposal of unwanted medicines

Do not hoard medicines - it can be fatal. Return unwanted medicines to us for safe destruction. Don't put them in the bin or down the toilet.

Confidential Help and Advice

We have a private area where you can talk about your medicines or general healthcare. Ask to speak to the pharmacist on duty. Our care for you goes beyond simply selling you medicines.

Pregnancy testing. Tests are now available which are 99% accurate from the first day of a missed period.
Oxygen supply. Cylinders of oxygen are available for patients who require this service. Only available on a Doctor's prescription
Nebulisers. We both supply and service nebulisers.
Healthfoods, Vitamins and supplements. We have an extensive range available.
Diabetic testing. We can carry out a simple test for diabetes and advise on diet and exercise.
Blood Pressure. We can measure blood pressure and help with advice about diet and lifestyle
Ostomy products. A discreet service is available.
Residential and Nursing Homes. We are able to advise on the storage and administration of medicines as well as supply a full range of medicines.
